David has had a distinguished 30 year career in Salon Management working for world famous names in London's West End (1975 to 1983) before opening his first salon from scratch in Windsor. 9 years on, after very successfully selling this salon, he opened his second salon again from scratch in 1992 despite a heavy economic recession. This salon has been twice Grand Finalist for "Independent Salon of the Year" in the British Hairdressing Business Awards.

In 2005 David again successfully sold the goodwill of his business on a lease having retained the freehold to secure his future.

2006 was another fantastic and busy year for David, starting with his series of Articles for the salon surgery section of Hairdressers Journal International Publication, and then being invited on to the Judging panel for The British Hairdressing Business Awards.

David is very proud to be a Fellow of The Fellowship for British Hairdressing and a "Master Craftsman of The Hairdressing Council", and has also been a Council Member for HABIA (Hairdressing & Beauty Industry Authority) representing NAS (Nationally Approved Salons). Recognised by HABIA as an industry key player, David has been invited on to several committees and contributed on the criteria for occupational standards regarding "Foundation Degrees in Hairdressing".

2006 has been another busy year for David, starting with his Business Doctor series of articles for the Salon Surgery section of Hairdressers Journal International publication, and then being invited on to the judging panel for the 2006 British Hairdressing Business Awards.

David’s industry & business skills and knowledge continues to gain international industry recognition.

In 2007 David was invited to produce articles and be the “Business Guru” for the international professional Hair and beauty magazine; “Beauty & Wellness” based in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates.

In 2008 David was asked by L’Oréal Professional, to join their line up of celebrity Educators based at their international Academy’s in London and Manchester, as an “Accredited Impact Business Coach”, offering seminars for anyone who wants to increase their understanding of their business and improve its performance

In 2008 David felt honoured that The Fellowship for British Hairdressing asked him to become The Business Editor for the prestigious Fellowship Magazine.”
